1.     How do I know the “ Japan Auto Trading” is a trust worthy company?

“ Japan Auto Trading” (JAT) has experience spanning over 15 years in all class of vehicle export industry. We are a duly licensed and registered company under registration number 0201-01-013738.  We strictly act according to the rules and regulations of Government of Japan and Japanese Auction laws.

2.     Can I buy a vehicle as a private buyer?

Yes, but we like to start building up very good business relationship with you and expect you to become as a major import dealer.

 

3.     Can I buy a vehicle which is not listed on your stock list?

Yes, please use "INQUIRY” form (also available in the “Contact Us” page) and submit details of the vehicle/s that you are looking for.

Also soon after your registration with JAT you can search and buy any vehicle from “Japan Auto Auctions”.

 

4.     How often do you update your stock on the website?

We are constantly updating our stock list daily.

 

5.     Do you give any warranty for the vehicle?

No, we do not have any warranty. Every vehicle is based on "as it is" condition at the time of sale. However, we provide all the information of vehicles before you decide to purchase from our stock or placing a bid with Japanese Auto Auctions. 

 

6.     What are CIF, C&F and FOB?

CIF means "Cost, Insurance, and Freight". It is all the cost included until landing in the Port where it is destined.

 

C&F means “Cost & Freight” It is include all charges except Insurance from Japan port to the destination port.


FOB means "Free on Board". It does not include marine insurance and shipping freight / forwarding cost. 

 

7.     I cannot see some information of the vehicle at the auction site.

You can see pictures and obtain more information of particular vehicle, ONLY if you upgrade to "Business Member" status.  In your "Premier Member" status you cannot obtain the prices of vehicle online due to the auction rules. 

 

8.     I want to know the importing regulation in my country.

We have a page about the importing regulation in some countries. Please click the “Import Regulation” tab in the Home Page.
All the resources are based on the government sites and we are not responsible for this information.  Please make sure to verify the regulations and confirm,
 before you decide to purchase /bid the vehicle.

 

9.     When can I call your office?

Our Head office opens from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. Japan Time. Also you can Contact our “Customer Support Sales center” from Monday to Friday between10:30 a.m. to 10:30 pm Japan Time and on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 20:30 p.m.( All National Holidays and Sundays are closed )

10. How do I receive my sales contract/agreement?

Your “sales contract/agreement and the ID registration contract/agreement” is one and same document accepted and Agreed when you do the registration with us at the beginning.

 

11. How do I place my bid?

You have to fill and send the Bidding form to our Bidding Team with a copy to Customer Support Sales Executive by email.  Failing to give all the information to bidding staff may not place the bid.

 

12. Can I cancel a bid before the auction start?

If you want to cancel your bid please email the cancellation to our bidding team Attn: “Bidding Staff” as well as to the Customer Support Sales Executive, before 07.00a.m Japan time.  We do not guarantee the cancellation.  Therefore, please be careful when bidding.

 

13. Can I cancel a bid after become as a bid winner?

No, you cannot cancel a bid after winning a bid. 

 

14. What will happen if I do not purchase the vehicle after winning my bid?

If you do not purchase the vehicle after you won the bid, we have to hand over the vehicle back to the auction company.  All the expenses will be deducted from your refundable security deposit.  This can be more than your deposit fee as all depend on the re-auctioned price.

 

15. What is the bid fee?

Each client has 5 FREE bids. Over 5 bids each bid will cost you JPY 1050.

   

1.     How do I sign up for an account?

Please click on Register Now link to register FREE.  Fill the registration form, read the given “sales contract/agreement and the ID registration contract/agreement” and before submit the form tick on “agree” box if you are agreed with our terms and conditions.

If you do not tick the “agree” box your registration will be cancelled automatically.

 

2.     Do I have to become a member?

No, it's only needed to gain access to view available vehicles in the “Japanese Auto Auctions” and “Japanese Motor Bikes auctions

 

3.     How do I receive my login information?

Your new ID and Password will be sent to you immediately by an automated e-mail after you submit your registration form. Please input the correct email address so that your new ID and Password will be received in order.  (If you do not receive the ID and Password please contact us via online support tab or e-mail to info@japanautotrading.com ). 

 

4.     If I forgot my password!?

If you forget your password, please click on “forgot password OR contact your regional Customer Support Sales Executive for help. 

 

5.     Can I check my account balance?

Yes, we have an online "Customer’s Profile" link for you to check your balance.  Also from this online "Customer’s Profile" link you can check the progress of your shipment and refer to more details. 

 

   

1.     How do I search a vehicle?

You can search any vehicle from the “Japanese Auto Auctions” OR you can search vehicle from “Our Stock”.

 

2.     Can I find a Left Hand Drive Japanese Vehicle?

All Japanese vehicles are Right Hand Driven. There are imported Left Hand Driven vehicles available in auctions and stock.

 

3.     Can you change steering wheels from right to left or find parts for this conversion?

No we do not change steering wheels right to left.

 

4.     Can you offer lower price than now showing in stock?

No, we do not offer any discount. The shown prices are our fixed prices. 

 
                         

1.     How to make a payment?

We accept Telegraphic Transfer (T/T).  100% payment has to be paid within 3 working days from the purchased date.  If not, your order will be cancelled automatically.

 

We accept L/C (Letter of Credit) for Sri Lankan buyers ONLY.  We do not accept cheques, or any other payment method. All the bank charges (sending and receiving) have to borne by the buyer. 

 

2.     How to do the payment?

You have to send the payment to our bank account.  Details given below;

3.     Do you deal with foreign currencies?

We deal with USD (US Dollar) and JPY (Japanese Yen) only.  

 

4.     How can I convert the prices into my currency?

6.     How can I check whether my payment is remitted to your account?

Once your payment is received / credited to our bank account, our Accounts department will notify you via email and copy of the email will be sent to your Customer Support Sales Executive for further reference.  Also the staff will create a “Customer Profile” for you.  The data will be updated in this Profile to check your balance.

 

7.     Do you offer credit?

No, we do not. Your vehicle will be booked for shipping after we receive the full payment to our bank account. So make sure to send us the money ASAP and always scan and email or fax the TT copy and confirm it to your regional Customer Support Sales Executive via online support, Skype or by e mail.

 

   

1.     What is the Refundable Security Deposit?

This refundable Security deposit will be treated as an assurance to bid on behalf of you, for the vehicle chosen by you.  You can use this deposit as a part payment of your purchased vehicle or else can keep as a guarantee for your future bidding.

 

2.      How can I refund my deposit?

You can contact our Head Office Accounts Department cum Customer Support Sales Executive and make a request by email (your sending e-mail address has to be the registered email address with us and also provide your Login ID and Password) to refund your deposit. Then our Accounts department will refund the deposit ASAP and confirm it by e-mail cc to Customer Support Sales Executive.  This will take minimum of 7 working days.

 

3.     Will you make any deduction from the deposit?

Yes, we will deduct our Bank charges of JPY 6,000 and over limit bid fees if any. (Please refer to the bid fee question-under “General”)

1.     Can I order Spare Parts?

Yes, you can place the order with us.  Please Click “Auto Parts” or contact our Online Support Staff or email to info@japanautotrading.com  We mostly undertake used spare parts in 20ft or 40ft HQ container orders. Only brand new spare parts we undertake in unit orders.

1.     How can I calculate the shipping charges?

From time to time the Freight fee will vary.  Therefore please contact our online support staff or “Customer Support Sales Executive” for an instant quote.

 

2.     How can I know the shipping schedule?

Please click on the site “Sailing schedule” to check online updating shipping schedules.  All the companies are not listed here.  For more details you can contact online support staff or the “Customer Support Sales Executive”

 

3.     Can I insure my Cargo?

Insurance is not included in FOB quotes.  If you wish to insure your cargo, you can do it with your insurance agent.  Or else, we can insure your cargo at a minimal cost and offer you in CIF quote.  Note: Some destination cannot be insured from this end ( Japan ).  For further details please contact Customer Support Sales Executive.

 

4.     How fast can you dispatch my vehicle?

As soon as you complete the full payment we will process with the export documents , shipping bookings and  JAAI/JEVIC etc (these inspections are done ONLY for the countries needed) as soon as possible, and will arrange the shipment from the first available vessel.  It may be difficult to confirm the availability of space according to the season and the final destination. However we will do our best to ship your vehicle as soon as possible with our experienced shipping agents. 

 

5.     How long will it take to ship my vehicle to my country?

Once the vehicle leaves from Japan port, the delivery time is around two to six weeks depending on the destination

 

6.     When will I receive my shipping documents?

Once the vessel leaves from Japanese port, the shipping company will issue the shipping documents (B/L). Then we will send the under mentioned documents by air courier ( EMS) with tracking number, to Notify Party address. 
1. B/L (Bill of Lading)
2.Japanese / English Original Export Certificate.
3.Commercial Invoice
4.Marine insurance certificate if the cargo is insured
5.JAAI/JEVIC/VCA/MAF certificates if necessary

 
 

7.     What does it means" Consignee" and" Notify Party"?

Consignee means the Person or company who will own the Cargo.  This person only has the right to nominate any clearing agent to clear the cargo from the arrival port.

 

Notifying Party means the Person who will receive all the cargo original Documents. Consignee can be Notify Party as well.

 

Sooner you purchase the vehicle, you are fully responsible to confirm the consignee and notify party details to shipping / accounts and Customer Support Sale Executive by e-mail.

Failure to do so, will delay the shipping bookings.
